Funding for world-class Gold Coast sports facility
The Gold Coast will be home to a new world-class facility with a strong focus on supporting women, girls and Para-athletes while creating a sporting legacy for the city.
The Gold Coast Titans Community Hub and High Performance Centre in Carrara will bring the NRL and NRLW programs and Titans Netball together in one location, while opening up new facilities for community sport.
The Albanese Government will invest $15 million towards the new centre, which will help grow junior participation and strengthen pathways from community sport to elite competition.
It will also be an important facility in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, offering opportunities for athlete development, as well as serving as a potential training and preparation base for rectangular field sports and Paralympic sports.
The facility will include:
The centre will also create more jobs, with more than 100 people expected to be needed during construction and more than 145 ongoing roles supported.
This commitment follows the Albanese Government's investment in high-performance sport and athletes ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Games, with record funding of $513 million provided in the 2026-27 Federal Budget, including a doubling of funding for para-athletes.
Community and High-Performance Centres like this are already increasing junior pathways for elite rugby league talent around the country and ensuring benefits for the entire community.
“The Gold Coast community love their sport and the Titans are an important part of that.
“Our $15 million investment will help support a world-class facility for the Gold Coast Titans to develop the next generation of rugby league talent and open up more opportunities for women and girls.
“With Brisbane 2032 approaching, we want to make sure our athletes have the best facilities to train and compete.
“This investment is about backing sport at every level from children having their first run on the field with their teammates to athletes representing the green and gold on the world stage.”
“This will be more than a high-performance and training centre; it will be a place for the community, where the next generation of talent will develop and where women and girls will have access to an amazing facility.
“It could very well be where the next Teagan Levi or Preston Campbell develops into one of the best in the game.
“With Brisbane 2032 less than six years away, we are continuing to invest in facilities like this that will give Australian athletes a competitive advantage.
“The Albanese Government is proud to invest in centres like this that will help get more people into sport, particularly women and girls.”
“We are incredibly grateful to the Albanese Government, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Minister for Sport Anika Wells for this significant investment in the long-term future of our athletes and the wider Gold Coast community.
“This $15 million commitment, building on the leased Emerald Lakes site already pledged by the City of Gold Coast is a significant investment in the future of this project and brings us closer to delivering a world-class facility for athletes and the wider community.
“Establishing a sustainable high-performance centre for the Gold Coast Titans has been a key pillar of the club’s long-term roadmap, and this investment brings us another significant step closer to realising that vision.
“We are also excited by the opportunity to partner with Para sport and its powerlifting program, helping provide athletes with the facilities and support they need as they build towards elite international competitions. This is exactly the type of legacy we want this facility to deliver for the Gold Coast and Australian sport more broadly.”
