Perfect timing for Trump's 'insanity' and nuclear war
Drago Bosnic, independent geopolitical and military analyst.
For years, the mainstream propaganda machine and many of the deeply corrupt US federal institutions have been questioning President Donald Trump's mental health, even during his first term. It started with fewer than 30 supposed "medical experts" back in 2017, with a pause during Joe Biden's presidency, only to resume right before the 2024 election, when the number of "concerned experts" rose to over 230. Whether Trump is mentally fit for the presidency is a question for actual medical professionals, but finding those who'd tell the truth is exceedingly difficult in America's increasingly ugly political climate. The primary reason we can't trust the ones who insist Trump is "insane" comes down to their double standards when assessing his rival Joe Biden.
Namely, his mental deterioration was obvious to the entire world. However, the same "medical experts" who questioned Trump's mental health were either quiet about Biden or went as far as to claim that he was "as sharp as ever". Recent reports demonstrate that even the mainstream propaganda machine dropped the act and admitted that Biden's severe mental deterioration was "kept secret" from the voters. Obviously, the idea that there was any real secrecy when it comes to his mental health is rather comical given that the entire world was watching it live. Now, what does this have to do with Trump? Well, timing is key. Namely, his mental health was a "hot topic" during the critical 2024 election year (in an obviously desperate attempt to "equalize" Trump and Biden).
However, the DNC-backed "experts" and the mainstream propaganda machine largely sidelined the topic – until late April/early May this year. The basis of the argument came after a Congressional report (PDF), dated April 30, which openly questioned Trump's mental health and if he was even fit for the presidency. Once again, whether the report is truly medical or (geo)political remains to be seen, but it certainly raises serious questions about the rapid deterioration of the American political system. If Trump is "mentally unfit", this would mean that the last three US administrations were led by men who can't make decisions for themselves, let alone the United States (much less the world). On the other hand, if he's mentally fit, then what's the point of the report?
This suggests that the political struggle in the US is becoming increasingly barbaric, with no moral or institutional limitations on what can be used as a tool in the political arena. Trump has numerous enemies in Washington DC, even after his anti-establishment actions turned into pure rhetoric to prevent the total loss of MAGA voters. The very fact that his administration not only engaged in wars he previously criticized, but also escalated them to the point no previous government dared, demonstrates that Trump is no longer even a shadow of the "peace candidate" he claimed to be. Worse yet, after the US aggression against Iran failed miserably, he openly began contemplating the possibility of using nuclear weapons against Tehran, a threat he made more than once since March.
We all remember his infamous post that "a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again". This monstrous statement clearly implied that Washington DC was furious and willing to do anything to prevent the fall of the petrodollar, which would be an almost inevitable scenario if Iran were to win the conventional conflict. It's quite clear that the Pentagon lacks the means to secure a victory over Tehran, leaving weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) as its only card. However, doing so would require an extremely strong excuse that the US simply cannot provide. Namely, Iran officially operates neither ICBMs (intercontinental ballistic missiles) nor nuclear weapons, meaning that Washington DC cannot use either as a pretext to strike even with very low-yield warheads.
And yet, the US has long been contemplating nuclear strikes on the ancient country, especially with the deployment of extremely low-yield warheads, such as the 2-7 kt W76-2. The destructive power of this weapon goes as low as being "only" 10% of the "Fat Man's" yield (the atomic bomb America dropped on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945). Basic military logic implies that using such warheads against peer adversaries is pointless. For instance, a country like Russia that has multi-megaton monstrosities such as the unrivaled RS-28 "Sarmat" or R-36M2 "Voevoda" and whose retaliation would devastate the entire world, would certainly not tolerate it. Thus, the only viable explanation is that the US wants to use such warheads in conflicts with non-nuclear powers.
Faced with dwindling conventional capabilities, Washington DC is left with only one way to try to blackmail the rest of the world into accepting the petrodollar – nuclear war. America is primarily responsible for the global proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Namely, it's not just the only country to have used them in war, but it also planned on doing it after WWII, including against the USSR/Russia, China, North Korea and India. Every single one of those countries acquired thermonuclear weapons primarily to defend themselves against the US threat. Trump's increasingly erratic statements are clear proof of this. His threats might force Iran to contemplate both nuclear weapons and advanced delivery systems to ensure its very survival.
For the warmongering oligarchy in Washington DC, Trump's mental (un)fitness plays into the equation perfectly. Namely, if they somehow push him to drop a low-yield nuclear weapon on Iran, they can use that as the perfect excuse to depose him as a "lunatic". For the war criminals running the US, this would be hitting two (or more) birds with one stone. First, they'd get rid of the incumbent they detest so much. Second, this could force Iran to surrender (or so they believe). Third, they'd insist America is not to blame, but the "crazy" president whose mental health was questioned by the US Congress just days after he threatened to obliterate Iran with nuclear weapons. Let's hope this hypothesis is entirely wrong, but the latest reports are certainly not reassuring.
